Spring weather in Virginia keeps us on our toes—and this session was no exception!

I met up with this sweet family for the second time, and I was so excited to photograph them again. But just as we pulled into the parking lot at Midlothian Mines Park, the skies opened up and it started pouring. ☔️ The forecast said no rain, but spring had other plans!

Thankfully, the storm passed almost as quickly as it came. Within 15 minutes, the clouds cleared, the sun broke through, and we were back on track. What started as a soggy beginning turned into a beautiful, joy-filled session full of light, laughter, and connection.

We spent the evening walking around Midlothian Mines Park, one of my favorite locations for family photos in Midlothian VA. With its wooded trails, open fields, and charming bridges, it’s the perfect mix of nature and charm—and ideal for curious kiddos who love to explore.

These three made the most of it! We ran, played, walked the trails, and captured the sweetest mix of candid moments and camera-ready smiles. One of my favorite parts? Documenting their daughter’s fresh little gap-toothed smile after she lost her very first tooth. Such a small detail—but one they’ll always want to remember.
